Tulas University is a leading private university in Dehradun, backed by a 20-year rich legacy of Tulas Institute (Est. 2006) under the aegis of Rishabh Educational Trust, notified as a University under the Uttarakhand Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2026 by the Government of Uttarakhand, vide Gazette Notification No. 236/XXXVI (3)/2026/33 (1)/2026 dated 09.07.2026, under Section 2, Serial No. 12.
The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and has approvals from AICTE, Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education Roorkee (UBTER). The institution is accredited with an A+ Grade by NAAC and has NBA accreditation for eligible programmes. Prior to becoming a University, it was affiliated with VMSB Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), Dehradun, and Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (SDSUV), Tehri Garhwal.
